But he doesn't regret his misogynistic lyrics.

Misogyny remains one of hip-hop's long-running blemishes, but going forward Snoop Dogg wants to stop being a part of the problem. In an interview with Sky News the Doggfather says his attitude toward women has changed because of the women in his life: his wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother. However, he doesn't regret the misogynistic lyrics of his past—of which there are many—because he says he didn't know any better.

Snoop said of his progression:

I am more sensitive and more vulnerable writing-wise and accepting a woman for being a beautiful person, as opposed to me saying she is a bitch or a whore because that was how I was trained when I first started, so I have no regrets. I understood what a woman was and I started to write about and express that. Once I figured out there was room to grow and learn and to be a better person then I incorporated that in everything I was doing. I don't feel like you can be ashamed or mad about not knowing—if you don't know, you don't know.

The transition away from lyrics like "Bitches ain't shit but hoes and tricks" isn't exactly seamless, though. Just yesterday Snoop posted the photo below to Instagram, proving he still has progress to make. But he's trying, which is a lot more than most rappers can say.
