Drake's fifth annual OVO Fest went out with a bang, and the Toronto rapper delivered a remarkable performance his hometown won't forget. As if that wasn't enough, his Young Money boss Lil Wayne also dropped some new music to celebrate their collaborative tour for the summer. And guess who the song features? None other than Drizzy.

Beyoncé showed off her rapping skills on the official remix of "Flawless," which included another standout verse from Nicki Minaj. Surprisingly, this was their first time collaborating together. After hearing this, we hope it's not the last. Plus, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian purchased a new home, and you won't believe the price they paid for it. Check out all that and more in What The Hell Just Happened In Music This Week?

Beyoncé dropped her highly anticipated “Flawless” remix featuring Nicki Minaj.

Date: August 3

Beyoncé gets an alley-oop from Nicki Minaj for the remix to “Flawless,” and the final product might be even more epic than people expected. Bey addresses the infamous elevator incident once and for all, saying “Of course sometimes shit go down when there's a billion dollars on an elevator.” Nicki drops a vicious verse, once again declaring herself the “queen of rap.” “But tell 'em winning is my motherfucking protocol/Because I score before I ever throw the ball,” she says. The two music behemoths have never collaborated before, and yet the chemistry between the two seems almost perfect. —Dharmic X

Wiz Khalifa's concert in New Jersey ended with over 100 concergoers getting arrested.

Date: August 3

There's a reason Wiz Khalifa's tour is called “Under the Influence.” According to New Jersey 101.5, over 100 people were arrested at the tour's stop at PNC Bank Art Center in New Jersey. The majority of the arrests were for underage drinking, which comes as no surprise for a concert bill that includes Wiz, Young Jeezy, Rich HomieQuan, and more. In addition to the arrests for underage drinking, 26 individuals were arrested for possession of drugs, two were arrested for disorderly conduct, and two for driving under the influence. Following the show, police responded to a fight on the New Jersey Transit train and say that two people were hospitalized and 20 were treated for a “high level of intoxication.” —Zach Frydenlund

Vanilla Ice dissed Wiz Khalifa's song for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.

Date: August 4

Vanilla Ice isn't a fan of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song, “Shell Shocked,” a record made by Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, and Ty Dolla $ign for the upcoming reboot of the film. “With respect to all of the artists, the song doesn't really do it for me, it feels a little artificial,” Ice said of the song in an interview with GQ. “What I mean by that is that it sounds like a bunch of executives in the corporate world put it together. It really does not fit the theme of the Ninja Turtles legend. I think you have to understand, and be a true Ninja, to possess the Magic to really pull off the secret sound.”

The “Ninja Turtles legend” Vanilla Ice is talking about just happens to include himself. Back in 1991, Ice performed “Ninja Rap” for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze soundtrack, and also appeared in the film itself during a pivotal scene. —Zach Frydenlund

Drake closed OVO Fest with a memorable performance that featured a lot of guests.

Date: August 5

Drake brought on the main show for his fifth annual OVO Fest. Like past years, he not only ran through a number of his own hits, but also brought out a handful of guests as well. JheneAiko kicked off the show in all white attire, and performed a mix of old and new material, including “The Worst.” The first special guest for the night was Lauryn Hill, who performed a few of her classic songs such as “Lost Ones” and “Doo Wop (That Thing).” Drake began his set with energetic performances of “We Made It” and “The Language.”

The Toronto rapper didn't forget about his day one fans, and performed songs from his So Far Gonemixtape, accompanied by special guest Trey Songz, who sang “Successful” and “Na Na.” Drake moved on to his first LP Thank Me Later with a medley of songs including “Up All Night” and “Show Me A Good Time.” Drake also shouted out Kendrick Lamar, shutting down any rumors of animosity between the two, and called him a “king.” Drake then took fans through a collection of cuts from his sophomore album Take Care, with performances of “The Motto,” “Crew Love,” and an elevated performance of “Marvin's Room.” —Justin Davis

Mariah Carey and longtime manager Jermaine parted ways.

Date: August 5

It seems Mariah Carey's relationship with collaborator and manager Jermaine Dupri has come to an end. Dupri confirmed the split to Billboard in a statement:

“I put my all into every project. But when I’m not allowed to do what I do, then I know it’s time for me to move on. Mariah and I enjoy working together and will continue to make great music together in the future.”

The loss of control that Dupri alludes to is possibly due to the fact that Carey has been close to former Def Jam president Kevin Liles, who runs his own management company. Billboard reports the two haven't officially signed together, but Liles has been helping her launch a beverage that she is branding.

Dupri has been behind some of Mariah Carey's biggest hits including “We Belong Together,” and served as the executive producer of her recent Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse album. Sales for that album have been far below expectations and it has already dropped out of the Top 200 after only being out for a few weeks. —Justin Davis

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian purchased a $20 million mansion in Hidden Hills, California.

Date: August 7

Fans of Keeping Up With The Kardashians already know that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been living in the Kardashian Klan's Calabasas home with Kris Jenner ever since North West was born. While they've been hanging in Mexico with Joe Francis and the Hamptons with Khloe and Kourtney (and the Koke Boys), they haven't had their own place since getting married.

Originally, they moved in with Kris and Ko. because their Bel-Air mansion was still under construction, but now they've decided to sell that spot and move into a $20 million estate in Hidden Hills right around the korner from Kris. According to E! News (So you know it's real), the mansion sits on 3.5 acres of land and features two swimming pools, two spas, two barbecue centers, and a VINEYARD.

They've reportedly sold that $11 million mansion in Bel-Air for more space, and are also “exhausted” because Kanye has probably tried to change the decor every morning.

“They are such perfectionists that staying up-to-date with the latest appliances and home systems, etc., has been exhausting for them. They want to sell very soon, but they might just finish the house enough to get it on the market without trying to make it their perfect home,” E! News is reporting. “They have no interest in becoming professional 'flippers' but rather have found the entire process exhausting.” —Lauren Nostro

On the heels of the “Drake Vs. Lil Wayne” tour, Weezy released “Grindin” featuring Drake.

Date: August 8

Lil Wayne has returned with the latest single off Tha Carter V titled “Grindin.” It features Drake and follows the release of “Krazy,” and it's a completely different tone from Weezy. On the track, produced by Boi-1da and Vinylz, Wayne's flow sounds very similar to Young Thug's recent songs. “Fuck 007, I work 24/7, ain't got time to bond with no bitch,” is one of Wayne's many lines about his work ethic while Drake raps about people finally taking him seriously now, and getting high in LA while recording everyday. Lil Wayne has hinted that Carter V will be coming out in either August or September. —Dharmic X
