Kodak Black is not the kind of artist to let something like serving time in a correctional facility get in the way of unleashing new records. On Sunday, the Florida rapper is back at it again, leaking a brand new track to the internet.
Produced by C-Clipbeatz, Black's latest song is titled "Chances." In it, he runs over his current legal predicament and reflects on the events and decision-making that led him to that place. "There them crackas go again/Freeze let me see your hands/Shit didn’t go the way I planned/N----s out here taking chances/I hear you gotta take a chance."
Last month, Black pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana, as well as one misdemeanor charge of use or possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He was sentenced to 120 days of jail time, but a report from the Sun Sentinel alleges that Kodak will not have to serve the full four months as he will be credited with the time he already served in jail. In addition to the time, Black's license will be suspended for a year, and he's required to pay court costs of $298.
Unfortunately, Black's legal issues won't end with his predicated release date of November 30, 2016. In August, Kodak was accused of sexual battery. The accusations stem from a February incident that took place in a Florence, S.C., hotel room. According again to the Sun Sentinel, it's unclear when he will be transported to South Carolina to face the charges.
