Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s son, Young Dirty Bastard, auditioned for the role of his father for the new Hulu series Wu-Tang: An American Saga. However, he didn't make the cut. RZA explained why around the 18:30 mark of his interview with Angie Martinez.

“[His son] did good, he took classes. He just has more time to develop his acting skills,” RZA said, adding that he looks just like the late Wu-Tang member.

RZA revealed he made the call not to cast YDB.

"That’s part of being a showrunner…. He took it good," RZA said. "Me and him have a great relationship. But I think he was a teeny bit bitter because I offered him something else to do and he was cool.”

T.J. Atoms was given the role of ODB instead.

The cast is rounded out by familiar and new faces, including Dave East, Ashton Sanders, Shameik Moore, Erika Alexander, Zolee Griggs, and more. Wu-Tang: An American Saga is now available on Hulu.
