Lizzo has shared her latest song “About Damn Time.” She also dropped off an accompanying music video for the track, which you can watch above via YouTube.
The singer previously teased the song in March on The Late Late Show with James Corden. The song arrives before her appearance on Saturday Night Live, where she is set to be both the show’s host and musical guest on April 16. Lizzo previously served as musical guest on the sketch comedy show back in 2019.
Her new Amazon Prime show, Watch Out For the Big Grrrls also recently saw a premiere on March 25. The show follows Lizzo as she looks for her next backup dancer.
In other news, Lizzo’s upcoming album, which is titled Special, will be released this summer on July 15. Lizzo talked about the album while chatting to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1’s New Music Daily.
“I think that the music really is going to speak for itself,” she said about what she hopes fans will get from the upcoming project. “I’m writing songs about love from every direction, and I hope that I can turn a little bit of the fear that’s been running rampant in this world, energetically into love. That’s the point. I had a lot of fear, and I had to do the work on myself, and this music is some of that work in turning that fear into love. I hope that when people listen to this album, it makes their day just a little bit better, a little bit more filled with love.”
