CyHi has dropped off his newest song “Tears,” featuring Jacquees.
The track sees CyHi digging deep into loss, whether in his career or personal life. “I feel like Atlanta needs some healing right now,” he said of the song in a statement.
“Tears” is the first single from the rapper’s forthcoming project The Story of E.G.O.T., slated for release this summer. In advance, he will offer up a new four-pack, E.G.O.T.: The EP on May 20. The projects follow the announcement of his E.G.O.T. Records label in partnership with Empire.
“I’m way more diverse than just a writer and rapper. I wanted to be able to fully spread my wings and showcase all my talents in one project. I believe this project is E.G.O.T worthy,” Cyhi explained of his new album, referring to the coveted status of artists who earn an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony across a career. “Its creativity, emotion, and star-studded lineup is unmatched.”
