Young Thug Teases Imminent Release of 'Barter 7'

Thugger teased the project just days after he dropped his 'On the Rvn' EP.

It's been a blessed week for music fans: Lil Wayne dropped Tha Carter V; Logic shared YSIV; Kanye West has Yandhi on deck; and now Young Thug has joined in by teasing the imminent release of Barter 7.

The Atlanta rapper fueled anticipation Friday night, when he suggested the tape would arrive "in moments."

Though Thug began teasing Barter 7 back in July, we never expected it to arrive this weekend—just days after he dropped his On the Rvn EP and weeks after he rolled out his Slime Language compilation album. If his tweet is true, we're in for a Thugger overload. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

As of press time, Barter 7 has yet to see the light of day; so, it's possible Thug was simply reconfirming that it was in the works. Yes, "moments" implies a brief period of time, but knowing Thug, that could mean a couple of hours, days, or months. We'll be sure to keep our eyes peeled.

The project will serve the follow-up to Thug's debut commercial mixtape, Barter 6 (2015), which included appearances by Jacquees, T.I., Boosie Badazz, and Birdman. The latter artist recently made headlines with Thug for their alleged involvement in the 2015 shooting of Lil Wayne's tour bus.

According to WSB-TV, prosecutors will soon decide if Thug and Baby will be charged in the non-fatal incident. The two are suspected of orchestrating the attack, which was carried out by Thug's former manager Peewee Roscoe. The Cobb County District Attorney's Office will announce their decision within the "next few weeks."
