Freddie Gibbs couldn’t help but take a few more shots at DJ Akademiks.

While promoting his new album $oul $old $eparately, the Indiana rapper stopped by Power 106 to chop it with the L.A. Leakers. As part of the broadcast, Gibbs delivered a freestyle over Jay-Z’s 2000 track “This Can’t Be Life,” featuring Beanie Sigel and Scarface with production by Kanye West.

Just seconds into the freestyle, Gibbs began referencing a viral video in which Akademiks was seen breaking up a fight between his girlfriend and another woman. The footage showed the media personality shouting at his partner, before screaming, “I’m the prize!”

Gibbs was clearly amused by the incident, as he began quoting it at the top of his rap.

“I’m the prize, n***a; Akademiks, I’m the prize n***a,” he declared. “Akademiks, you abusive, stop taking them purses and all that shit from them girls man. It’s L.A. Leakers man, come to the West Coast man, we’ll buy you a purse if you want a purse bitch, I got you.”

The rapper unleashed his fifth studio album late last month. It included contributions from Pusha-T, Moneybagg Yo, Rock Ross, Anderson .Paak, Offset, and Kelly Price.

Gibbs and Madlib were expected to drop their collaborative effort Montana; however, Freddie suggested the project had been abandoned, as $oul $old $eparately could mark his final record. He shared the news in a recent AMA on Reddit.
