Drake Responds to Kanye's 'Purple Demon Emoji' Comments

During an interview on Chicago's 107.5 WGCI Morning Show, Ye claimed Drake sent him a purple demon emoji because was upset about a beat. Drizzy subtly responded on Instagram.

Did Drake throw subtle shade at Kanye West? It definitely looks that way.

On Wednesday morning, Ye appeared on Chicago’s 107.5 WGCI Morning Show, where he discussed a wide range of topics, including his rumored beef with the 6 God. Kanye insisted there was no bad blood, but suggested the issue might’ve stemmed from an incident involving a beat and an angry emoji.

“When we talk about the Drake thing, it hits me in a really sensitive place,” Kanye said, “because you hang around people and they come to your house and be around your family and this and that. And they get mad about a beat and send you purple demon emojis.”

Hours after the interview made headlines, Drake posted an Instagram photo in which he’s rocking an unfazed expression over the words: “The Boy 666666666.” Drizzy captioned the post with a crying laughing emoji and—you guessed it—a purple demon emoji.

Let’s hope this whole Drake vs. G.O.O.D. Music saga doesn’t re-escalate.

During his WGCI interview, Kanye said he was aware of the recent shots Drake took at him, but was hopeful that they would one day reconcile.

“We all got love for Drake,” he said. “We understand that he got upset about [“The Story of Adidon”]. I feel that it was insensitive for him to, in any way, stress me out in any way after TMZ, while I’m in Wyoming healing, pulling all the pieces together, working on my music. And you know, we’ll reconcile that one day because we got to, because we got work to do, and these voices is just too powerful.”
