Singer Justine Skye is giving her fans an early Christmas gift with the release of her new EP 8 Ounces. She announced the project's release earlier today on Twitter. The whole nine-track EP is produced by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, and includes a feature from Wale. “The-Dream was like my diary,” she said to Genius. “I would sit there and talk his ear off about all my guy situations; he would just turn my stories into songs.”

“Eight ounces is the average weight of the female heart,” she told Genius about the EP's title. “Now that I’m 21, I’m meeting different people from different parts of the world and I’m figuring out myself more and figuring out guys more. This whole EP is my diary of situations that I’ve gone through since my last project.”

The singer has been signed to Roc Nation since March of this year, and she's looking to make a big impact in 2017. Skye discussed working with the Roc in an interview with Complex back in October. "It's so awesome, even though the most time I've ever spent with him is like 20 minutes," she said. "It's a dream come true," she added, expressing amazement that she actually got to spend time hanging out with one of her idols. She also performed an unreleased song during the interview, which you can check out here.
