Maggie Baugh is finding herself in the spotlight for reasons that go far beyond her music.

According to People, the 25-year-old guitarist and rising country star was front and center during a Keith Urban performance that’s now making waves in the middle of his split from Nicole Kidman.

The moment happened onstage when Urban, 57, sang his hit “The Fighter,” a track he famously wrote for Kidman during the early years of their relationship. But this time, instead of the original line, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter,” Urban swapped in Baugh’s name: “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”

The lyric change was captured in a video Baugh posted to Instagram on September 26. Over the clip, she dropped two emojis—🫣 and 🤯—and captioned it with, “Did he just say that👀.”

The post quickly circulated online, sparking debate among fans just days before news broke that Kidman had filed for divorce after 19 years of marriage.

Needless to say, most of the comments weren't complementary to Baugh, with such remarks as, "Did YOU just post it? Seriously, very poor taste. It's almost like you want the world to think you're the one he's seeing," and "Why in the world would you post this? Have some class. Or maybe you don't mind having none. And Keith? lost all respect. Sure couples separate but to make this that public. Shame on both of them."

Court documents confirmed the actress filed in Nashville on September 30, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple, who tied the knot in 2006, share two daughters—Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

For Baugh, the attention comes at a pivotal point in her career. The Florida native has been on tour with Urban this summer as part of his High and Alive World Tour. The tour will continue through mid-October, with additional shows scheduled in the Bahamas and the U.K. for next year.

Urban originally described “The Fighter” as deeply personal, telling Billboard in 2017 that the song came from a conversation with Kidman early in their marriage. “It’s about wanting to heal somebody, wanting to take care of somebody, wanting to protect somebody. It’s really like a vow,” he said at the time.

Now, with Kidman officially moving forward with divorce and Urban’s onstage shoutout to Baugh circulating widely, fans are questioning whether it was a playful moment or something more.
