Holograms of musicians that aren't alive anymore is nothing new, with long-dead acts being revived to a decidedly mixed response. With footage of an apparent XXXTentacion hologram performing on stage surfacing online, the question of whether people actually want these holograms has been raised again.

In the footage, an X hologram is seen onstage with wings. "No one can explain why you are alive," the rapper's ghostly hologram says during a speech. It's not known when and where this footage was taken, and as such fans have already begun speculating whether the clip is real or not.

Many of the reactions on a sub-Reddit dedicated to X have been negative. Supposedly the hologram appeared at an event in L.A, although which event is unclear.

X entered the news again after Vic Mensadissed him during a freestyle at the BET awards. Vic defended his actions, posting on Instagram, "I vehemently reject the trend in hip-hop of championing abusers, and I will not hold my tongue about it."

In the cypher, Mensa rapped, "Only time you bear arms is in a wife beater, loser/Your favorite rapper's a domestic abuser." Shortly after the cypher aired on BET, Vic dropped the song "Empathy" and said it was a "response to all the controversy."
