Raven-Symoné got dragged once again over the weekend after she so boldly tried to diss some of hip-hop’s biggest legends—including T.I., Jay Z, and Diddy—on an Instagram post. The former View co-host reposted a group photo of the Roc Nation pre-Grammys brunch that originally came from Speech of the hip-hop group Arrested Development that read.
His caption read, “A group of so-called ‘successful’ Black men (minus [DJ Khaled] racially) who became rich and famous from perpetuating the worst Black stereotypes to the ears and eyes of the whole planet like drug dealing, pimping, murdering other Black men and disrespecting Black women.”
Though the message is not Raven’s originally, the repost captioned with a series of emojis—the monocle, the mouthless face, and a yellow heart—indicated that she agreed with the sentiment. After a tsunami of backlash, Raven took down the post, but stood by her statement. “Deleted my post because the comments were not something I want my underage followers looking at," she wrote. "I'm not deleting because I don't believe in what I said."
Finally someone in the photo has a message for the former Disney star. T.I. shared an image of an Oscar Wilde quote on his Instagram and tagged Raven with the caption “our sins ain’t no greater than yours ma’am. The air must be thin as hell up there on that high horse you sittin on. Somebody please let me know...WTF up wit shawty?"
Ages ago, T.I. defended Raven for her infamously bad comments about labels. She dismissed her blackness once in an Oprah interview (“I’m not African American, I’m American") and her queerness by saying she’s not gay but “a human who loves other humans.” In an interview with Larry King, the Atlanta rapper agreed with Raven. "I mean, I think she has an incredible point," T.I. said at the time. "I think we need to find more reasons to unify rather than to divide each other and separate from one another."
T.I. now finds himself on the other side of Raven-Symoné's sus commentary. Trey Songz butted in to comment on the Atlanta rapper’s post, calling both Speech and Raven clowns.
Raven also didn’t like Beyoncé 's "Formation" video, so why are we even paying attention to what she has to say? For someone who pretended she could see into the future for so many years, it’s hard to understand how blind Raven consistently is.
