It’s been a minute since pop singer Halsey has released new music, and now she returns with a gut-wrenching love song titled “Without Me.” You can check out the video up top.
In the song, Halsey outlines all of the emotional labor she poured into her partner, who may or may not be *cough cough* G-Eazy. Halsey sings “does it ever get lonely, thinking you could live without me?” Whew. Apparently it did, because after a few rough patches, the couple recently got back together, celebrating Halsey’s birthday with an Italy getaway last month.
“Questioning your purpose and your effort in a relationship can be confusing and draining. But it’s important to self-reflect and know your worth and value,” Halsey said about this new song. “This record is about understanding your worth. It’s a very honest record. And it helped me prove to myself that I can still manifest my feelings into art after all this time. My music will always be the vehicle that carries my heart.”
During her break from releasing music, Halsey has stayed busy with a variety of other ventures. She appears in the forthcoming blockbuster A Star Is Born—yeah, the one with Lady Gaga—which hits theaters this weekend. She also voiced a character on the 2018 animated summer movie Teen Titans GO!
