50 Cent has apologized to Megan Thee Stallion for a meme he shared about the Tory Lanez trial. The Canadian artist was found guilty of shooting Megan last month and is currently in jail.

“I’m gonna apologize to Megan Thee Stallion,” he said around the 7:50 point of his interview with Big Boy, as seen above. “I said some things, and it was because… On social media I posted things that—when she was with Gayle [King]—she said, 'Were you intimate with Tory Lanez?' And she said, 'What?' and it was like, 'No.' And I was like, 'Ah, she lying.' At that point I knew she was lying, it wouldn't be no reason for them to be around each other. From that it felt like she was lying, to me."

He admitted that he "wasn't being supportive" of her, and he felt compelled to apologize after he heard audio from a prison phone call Tory Lanez made to Kelsey Harris, in which he seemingly expressed remorse for shooting Megan. “I should apologize to her, because when I heard the phone conversation… That made me feel like, ‘Oh shit,’” he said. “'Now I know what happened.’ I’m sure that was probably what swayed people in court, too.”

His apology comes a month after he shared a meme during the trial that appeared to compare Megan to actor Jussie Smollett, who was found guilty of staging a hate crime against himself in Chicago.

The phone call 50 referenced was used as damning evidence during the trial of Lanez last month. “I know she’s probably never ever gonna talk to me ever again but bruh, I just want you to know I was just so fucking drunk, I don’t even know what the fuck was going on, deadass,” Lanez said in the audio. “I’d never do some shit like that." At the conclusion of the trial, Lanez was found guilty on all three charges, which included assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a concealed and loaded firearm in a vehicle, and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence.

Fif previously apologized for sharing a meme shortly after news surfaced that Megan was shot twice in the foot. "Damn I didn’t think this shit was real," 50 wrote on Instagram in 2020. "It sounded so crazy @theestallion i’m glad your feeling better and i hope you can accept my apology. I posted a meme that was floating around. I wouldn’t have done that if i knew you was really hurt sorry."
