UPDATED 2/6, 11:25 p.m. ET:Uzi was asked directly how they feel about the discourse and whether “I Just Wanna Rock” overtook Meek’s “Dreams and Nightmares,” as posited by DJ Drama.

“I don’t think so,” Uzi told Revolt TV at the Grammys, as relayed by the Shade Room. “That song like been around for a very long time, and that song is still hitting exactly the same way. I’m just gonna have to see, you know, in a couple of years or a decade or whatever. [Meek], that’s a big homie from Philly, and that’s like one of my big homies. So I just like feed off the energy that he gives actually, to be able to even produce or put out that type of music. So like, hopefully, like shit, hopefully. He would hope that for me too. Not yet though, it’s too early to tell.”

After Lil Uzi Vert ran on field with the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday, DJ Drama has suggested they replaced Meek Mill as the team’s anthem rapper.

“I think it’s fair to say that ‘I Just Wanna Rock’ has replaced—with all due respect—‘Dreams and Nightmares’ as the new anthem of Philadelphia, as the new anthem of the Philadelphia Eagles this year,” said Drama in a brief interview with TMZ at LAX. “I’m looking forward to hearing that song many, many times [throughout] Super Bowl weekend.”

During the Eagles’ impressive championship run for the Super Bowl LII in 2018, Meek’s 2012 track “Dreams and Nightmares” served as the team’s anthem. In fact, NBC Sports Philadelphia called it “the greatest Philly sports anthem ever” following their win in 2018. Meek certainly has some competition these days, though, as their song “Just Wanna Rock” has continued to prove popular.

Lil Uzi Vert ran out with the team on Sunday as “Just Wanna Rock” played, and they sported a custom jersey that featured their name on the back. Some of the team have made it clear they’re big fans of the rapper, too, as Brandom Graham revealed he listened to Uzi before games.

The Eagles could be poised to take home another win at the Super Bowl LVII next week, as they face off against the Kansas City Chiefs. Perhaps Uzi could be the good luck charm they need to lead them to victory.
