Having made her debut in 2017 with the Waves EP, released simply under her first name, South East London singer/songwriter Kaia Laurielle is back — brighter and bolder than ever with new single "Waiting Room".
The intervening years have seen Laurielle undergo somewhat of a transformation as an artist, growing in confidence and adding more and more power to her vocals. That added dynamism shines through even in the production from Aron Kyne and Karim Kamar, which backs her with a stylishly futuristic new aesthetic. Adding yet another layer to that is the eye-popping video from Julian Knxx, putting the full focus on Kaia as she sits draped in brightly coloured fabrics. However, even the bold colour blocks fade into the background when she hits those high notes.
