Kaytranada puts a twist on Hype Williams' Belly for his latest video.
The opening scene of 1998 film features a blue-tinted club that was overrun by Nas and DMX. "Need It" sticks to this theme by having the visual set in a night club that looks like the one from the film. Yet—like his music—Kaytranada and director Andre Bato put their own entertaining flair on the concept.
Instead of violently robbing the club like the crew does in Belly, the men engage in a fist fight that actually turns into an epic dance battle. The battle then transitions to clubgoers enjoying themselves while Masego sings on stage.
"Need It" was featured on Kaytranada's album BUBBA. The producer's second studio album boasted appearances from Pharrell, Mick Jenkins, SiR, Estelle, and more. The critically acclaimed project peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Electronic Albums chart and No. 3 on its R&B Albums chart. "Need it" is the second video to come from BUBBA, following "10%" with Kali Uchis.
