After building up a more than healthy fanbase with his irresistably smooth cover versions, emerging pop singer Benji Brown is now stepping out with his own original creations, kicking off today with "Déjà Vu".

Devastatingly charming and uplifting, "Déjà Vu" was written with prolific producer/songwriter Ben Stancombe. The result is a flawlessly smooth piece of pop music shot through with Brown's flair for soulful lyricism and potent songwriting.

Of course it's still very early days in Brown's nascent career but his confidence on the mic and in front of the camera — as well as his in-built natural talent — should give him all the tools he needs to go as far as he wants with his music.

Speaking on the single, Benji said: "'Déjà Vu' is about being in an on/off relationship which turns very toxic. The opening lyrics 'I've been doing fine without you, I know how to, so what about you' states that I've learnt to live without this person and attempt to find something new, but I just keep getting pulled back. Just as the chorus says, 'I just wanna be someone to you.'"
