It's been over a week since Juice WRLD's death shook the music industry. Since then, tributes from fans, friends, and peers have poured in over social media.
Now, Lil Bibby has spoken publicly for the first time. The rapper-turned-record executive took to Instagram to share a video of Juice freestyling, alongside a message: “Rest easy lil brother,” Bibby wrote. “Young GOAT, Most talented I’ve ever witnessed. You will be missed. Watched you 1 take platinum records. Gonna miss u freestyling around the crib all day even though that shit got a lil irritating. Most genuine person I’ve ever met. Miss u, love u brother.”
While Bibby began his music career as a rapper, he soon transitioned into the role of record exec, and ended up discovering Juice in 2017. After hearing “Lucid Dreams,” Bibby’s brother G Money helped sign Juice to Grade A Productions. Later, the team inked a deal with Interscope Records, which released both of Juice’s albums.
“I decided to sign with Lil Bibby and G Money at Grade A because as far as just where we from and them letting me know like, they made it clear exactly what was gonna happen, the chances of something happening, the chances of something not happening,” Juice told XXL. “They kept it a hunnid. That's one of the best choices I probably ever made.”
On Dec. 13, a private funeral was held for Juice WRLD for his family, relatives, and closest friends.
Over the weekend, Juice WRLD’s friends also paid tribute to the late rapper at Rolling Loud Los Angeles. The full set featured G Herbo, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Cole Bennett, YBN Cordae, and more. Juice’s girlfriend Ally Lotti also shared a touching message.
