Following on from his well-received Invocation album earlier this year, Hungarian producer Àbáse is back with a brand new single, "Slow It Down". The Budapest-based producer has this time linked up with London-based singer and producer Emmavie and Brooklyn rapper ScienZe. "Slow It Down" sees the two producers put together a calming, head-nodding instrumental packed with subtle flourishes and capped off with a warm and soulful hook. All of that gives ScienZe the perfect bed to weave his cerebral, multi-layered rhymes. Together, both the lyrics and the production, manage to show off impressive technical prowess without ever straying close to pretension.

Speaking with Complex via email, Àbáse told us: "The beat was created in Budapest during the winter of 2016. It was probably the last one I made for the EP. I first heard Emmavie's music (her EP with producer Alfa Mist) during my stay in Paris. I immediately fell in love with her vibe and creativity and had that EP on repeat. When I learned that my friend Call Me Unique knows her I decided to travel to London to meet her in person and invite her over to Budapest. The one week we spent together in BP is one of the most creatively memorable times of my life.

"I got to meet ScienZe in Budapest during his tour with fellow MC Fresh Daily and producer Chuck Le Garcon. They gave a powerful performance in Budapest and we got to hang the next day. I got to meet him again while I was in New York and I was very happy that he accepted my invitation to be a part of this project later online."

"Slow It Down" is taken from Àbáse's new four-track EP, Elevate.
