Singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Robbie Redway — aka Rondo Mo — has travelled a difficult path to where he is today. In the past, Redway has suffered with mental health issues but, as he says below, those are behind him and his new single "This Time" marks a poignant but uplifting conclusion to that chapter of his life.

Despite where that particular journey may have started, "This Time" carries an optimistic tone as it bounces gently towards the hopeful conclusion. Naturally, there's still a darkness to it, lurking just out of view, but ultimately the hypnotic beat (mimicking meditation) pulls the listener towards an uplifting apex as the song ends.

Speaking with Complex via email, he explained: "'This Time' had an interesting development as a song. It started as a ballad which I wrote sitting at the piano, contemplating the journey I've been undertaking recently to address certain mental health issues I've had. It's basically a song about meditation and letting go. When I took it into the studio to develop it, it transformed into a kind of dark disco number, almost unconsciously. That's just the way the process went. Maybe this is demonstrative of the franticness you can feel whilst meditating, before you reach the calm."

"This Time" is taken from Rondo Mo's forthcoming Cinemas EP (Friday, September 13) and you can catch him headlining Bermondsey Social Club on Thursday, September 19.
