Nicki Minaj tweeted that she's retiring from music.

The Queens rapper took to Twitter on Thursday to write, “I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me.”

To her Barbz, she added, “Love you for LIFE.”

Minaj certainly seems to be happy with her life and in love with her beau Kenneth Petty, whom she began dating in December 2018. On Sunday, she took to Twitter to offer some advice to her fans about self-love and toxic relationships, writing, “I first had to learn how to love MYSELF. if you wouldn’t let a man treat your mother, your sister or best friend like that b/c you LOVE them, then you wouldn’t let a man treat YOU like that b/c you love YOU.”

In late July, news emerged that Minaj and Petty had obtained a marriage license. Prior to that, on Chance the Rapper’s new album The Big Day, Nicki hinted at a future with Petty when she rapped, “My n***a home now, he the Clyde to my Bonnie/'Bout to walk down the aisle and be a mommy.”

Minaj’s relationship with Petty has been met with controversy, particularly since he is a registered sex offender who was convicted of attempted rape when he was 16 years old. Petty also served four years of a 10-year sentence after pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter in 2006. Regardless, Minaj has constantly fought back against fans and critics who condemn her for dating Petty.

Onika's declaration of retirement also comes after the artist blasted the media and influencers for trying to tear her down. On Instagram Live she said, “Those people came together to try to end me, and sweetheart, before I get off this Insta let me say this... It'll never fucking happen.” Her fourth and most recent album, Queen, dropped last year
