Demi Lovato took to Instagram on Friday morning to share an unedited photo of herself in a bathing suit.
Alongside the image—which was taken during vacation in Bora Bora—the singer shared a lengthy caption, where she discussed body image, self-love, and authenticity.
“This is my biggest fear. A photo of me in a bikini unedited. And guess what, it’s CELLULIT!!!!” she begins. Lovato admits to editing other photos she posted of herself in a bikini. She continued, “This is what I got. I want this new chapter in my life to be about being authentic to who I am rather than trying to meet someone else’s standards.”
Lovato was met with a ton of praise and respect from fans and celebrities like Hailey Bieber, Ashley Graham, Jamie Lynn Spears, Jenna Fischer, and Lovato’s manager, Scooter Braun.
Braun took to Twitter to applaud Lovato, writing, “Demi Lovato is the shit. She is amazing. That’s the tweet. Bravo. Deal with it.”
