Prince's half-brother Alfred Jackson, who was one of the heirs to the late singer's estate, has died at age 66. As TMZ reports, Jackson passed away on Thursday morning in Kansas City, Missouri. He was found unresponsive by his brother Bruce Jackson. Authorities have indicated there was no foul play suspected in his death, and he died of natural causes.
Alfred Jackson was one of the six surviving siblings of Prince. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that Prince's sister Tyka Nelson confirmed Jackson's death on Facebook. "Hi…this morning my older beloved brother Alfred passed on," she wrote. "Thank u for respecting our privacy at this time & 4 being so nice 2 him."
Jackson was an Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam, and when Prince died he used his inheritance to buy a home in Kansas City. Prince's estate was split between his sister Tyka and half-siblings Jackson, Sharon Nelson, Norrine Nelson, John Nelson, and Omar Baker. As the USA Today reported earlier this year, the estate of the musician still hasn't been fully settled. The estate has been stuck in legal proceedings ever since the singer's death, as no will was found and he has no known children.
Earlier this year, Prince's estate dropped a posthumous album featuring unreleased demos that he wrote for other musicians. The songs included "Manic Monday" and "Nothing Compares 2 U."
