Last week, award-winning singer-songwriter RuthAnne released her latest single, "Unrequited", following on from RuthAnne's last release, "Superman", which quickly became a favourite of Radio 1 selector MistaJam. Typically, RuthAnne's output sits somewhere between R&B and pop, pushing her knack for melodies and infectious hooks right to the fore. The original version of "Unrequited" lives up to that, but MistaJam's version fires it straight into club territory with a punchy 4x4 beat behind it and a deep, funk-filled groove that veers almost into the realm of disco.
