Idris Elba's 2018 directorial debut, YARDIE, now has a carefully-curated mixtape to accompany it. Created especially for the tape, new songs from the likes of Newham Generals, Zed Bias and Kranium feature on the Jamaican-inspired offering, expertly-put together by Elba and his team at the 7Wallace label. One of the standouts on the tape is "Yard" with Chip and Toddla T. Going in between UK and patois-tinged flows, Chip is fully in his element on T's minimal-dancehall riddim, showing love to his JA roots while keeping it straight London in the launderette-set visuals.

Speaking with Complex over email, Toddla T said: "Me and Chip made this tune for Idris Elba's YARDIE mixtape, and the tape is full of music inspired by the film, hence the vocal samples from the film in the tune. This was the first time I'd worked with Chip and the way he writes and voices, it just knocked me out! He's truly one of the best out there, and it's true: he can't run out of bars."
