In April Brighton four-piece band Yakul announced that they'd finished work on the Getting Late EP and would be releasing it August 2. With the announcement came the EP's lead single, "Daydreaming", followed by "Blossoming" in May. Now, as the album's release date approaches, they're back with the third single, "Getting Late" with rapper, producer, singer and jazz lover Louis VI. Another slice of richly textured, funk- and jazz-flecked R&B, "Getting Late" could not have come at a better time with this apocalyptic heatwave we're currently enjoying in the UK. Whether you're heading to the park or hiding indoors, "Getting Late" is the ideal soundtrack.

Speaking with Complex via email, the band told us: "'Getting Late' was written with the idea that it'd be played out in summer on the beach or at a festival or somewhere like that. It was great to do something that was more straight ahead while still keeping to the core of what we think our sound is. Mad love to Louis VI for smashing a verse on this too, he really took it to another level!"
