Nas recently announced the release date for The Lost Tapes 2, which compiles previously unreleased material while acting as a sequel to the original 2002compilation. This time around, the rarities come from the sessions of Hip-Hop Is Dead, Untitled, Life is Good, and Nasir. Ahead of its release on July 19, Nas has shared a preview of the record.
The Eddie Cole-produced "Jarreau of Rap" sees Nas going in over a sample of the late Al Jarreau's "Blue Rondo à la Turk" over retro-tinged product full of vibrant brass sounds. It's a jovial track that takes an extended instrumental break to highlight the talents of featured artist Keyon Harrold. Check it out above.
The tracklist for The Lost Tapes 2 features appearances from the likes of Swizz Beatz, Pete Rock, RZA, Alchemist, Kanye West, and Pharrell Williams on the production side. The Lost Tapes 2 has been teased for quite some time, but now fans won't have to wait much longer.
The Lost Tapes 2 is out via Mass Appeal Records on July 19.
