Confident 'Hibernate EP'

Drawing audible influences from the likes of Murlo and Burial, elusive producer Confident is getting ready to step out on his own with the three-track Hibernate EP (due March 29 via Plasma Abuse). A key track on the release is "Black Rizla", a grime-focused instrumental that, like the rest of the EP, nods to several different strains of UK underground club music. Urgent drum patterns pop and click beneath the slippery synths of what is essentially a grime instrumental, but there are also the faintest hints of trance, breakbeat and jungle sneaking into the mix too. You won't find Confident anywhere on social media, so until the EP drops this Friday, get your first taste right here.
