After releasing "In Women Colour" just a few weeks ago, rising Toronto emcee Haviah Mighty just dropped another single, "Waves." The track features a guest appearance from Sean Leon and is just the latest release from Haviah as she gears up to drop her album, 13th Floor, on May 10.
"It’s funny how this track came together," Haviah shares of the single. "Initially, I produced this in 2016. Then, in 2018, I showed it to a friend/producer, Young Dreadz, who asked for the stems and really fluffed it up! Later that year, I showed it to 2oolman who essentially sampled some elements of the Young Dreadz/Haviah collab, and it turned into this epic, cinematic, bar-centric record. Finally, I reached out to Sean Leon and felt his voice, sound and style were perfect for this record."
The single "Waves" also arrives with a music video co-directed by Yung Temi and Shanik, which you can see above. Enjoy the track and visual and be sure to watch out for 13th Floor coming in May.
