Avril Lavigne and Nicki Minaj have linked up for the uplifting song “Dumb Blonde.”

The duo deliver empowering lyrics over a cheery drumline. “I ain’t no dumb blonde / I ain’t no stupid Barbie doll / I got my game on / Watch me prove you wrong,” Avril sings, while Nicki raps about haters and frauds, and references The Pinkprint.

Before the song’s release, Nicki took to Twitter to share her love for Avril and the song: “I used to drive to my job @ Red Lobster playing this woman’s album for an hour straight everyday for months. Crying to ‘I’m with you’, blasting ‘complicated’ ‘things I’ll never say’ ‘nobody’s fool’ ‘sk8er boi’. omg. #DumbBlonde tmrw. This woman is so unbelievably talented,” she wrote.

Avril returned Nicki’s compliment, writing, “.@NickiMinaj is my favorite!!! I’ve been listening to her for so long. As soon as I recorded #DumbBlonde, I knew she’d be the perfect artist to collaborate with on it. When she said yes it was like a dream come true!!! I can’t wait for everyone to hear!”

On it, Nicki makes a reference to her song "No Frauds," which was a response to Remy Ma's "shETHER." "I am the prototype of Pinkprint / And no, I don’t want no frauds, wink wink," she raps.

“Dumb Blonde” follows the September 2018 release of Avril’s first single “Head Above Water,” from her forthcoming album Head Above Water, due Feb. 15.
