Klenord “Shaft” Raphael, the ex-manager currently trying to sue Cardi B for $15 million, reportedly thinks that the rapper's father, Carlos Almanzar, has key info related to the suit. The lawsuit was initially filed last April after Raphael stated that Cardi breached her contract by leaving him. Almanzar's claim was met with a countersuit alleging that he tried to control her career/personal life.

Cardi's lawyer has been served with a subpoena for Almanzar, according to The Blast. Previous reports stated that Raphael also intends to get Offset to testify about Cardi's relationship with her manager, in addition to telling them about royalties and other details he may know about.

Cardi has contended that she was exploited by Raphael, who took advantage of her "trust and naiveté" while "[persuading] her to sign contracts and to enter into deals in which Mr. Raphael attempted to take an unreasonable and unconscionable portion of [her] earnings in the entertainment industry for himself." Cardi said that she signed with his company without a lawyer and accused him of failing to give monthly accounting reports or the adequate payments she claims she was owed.
