Former NFL running back-turned-rapper Arian Foster (aka Bobby Feeno) is catching some heat on Twitter for his latest comments regarding the music of the legendary 2Pac. During a recent interview on Van Lathan's "The Red Pill" podcast, Foster said that he thinks it is "dishonest" to say that Pac's music was "deep."

"Pac is my favorite artist of all-time, but to pretend that his music was just out of this world, intellectually deep, is just dishonest," said Foster. "I will listen to a 2Pac record faster than anybody else, but to pretend it's as deep...[2Pac fans] conflate who 2Pac was as a person with who 2Pac was as an artist."

Foster admires the rapper so much he even named his debut album Flamingo & Koval, the intersection where 2Pac was shot and killed on Sept. 13, 1996 in Las Vegas. Despite the former Houston Texans tailback calling the west coast legend his favorite rapper of all-time, that did not stop fans from destroying Foster on social media for his stance. Here are some of the best comments.

Whats deep to you?Popping mollies, killing niggas? He was talking about issues that affect us as a people, about the psychological effects of poverty and growing up without parental guidance, about love on another level, about children who never get to be children but go off fool..

They Don’t Give A Fuck About Us, Changes, Papaz Song, Keep Ya Head Up...songs that’s still prevalent to this day.... pic.twitter.com/XNQMERIGzI

PAC put out his most emotionally deep songs out before Death Row. Brenda's Got A Baby, Keep Your Head Up, and so many others. You can downplay his career or call him overrated, but no rapper in history has ever touched on real topics since this man left this world.

Never heard of Arian Foster. I do however still listen to the poetry of a brilliant artist from music that was produced nearly 3 decades ago. ✌️

That has to be the weakest argument EVER!!! If you’re going to make such an asinine statement you better have facts backed by information that shows the lack of impact his music has had on culture past and present not watered down shots at his legacy. Van turn his mic off. pic.twitter.com/JRfai7h1td

What is dude talking about?! I was in high school during Pac's heyday in the 90's, and was always a Biggie fan, but no one can deny that Pac is one of the best lyricists of all time. Anyone who says otherwise is braindead.

Throw him in here!! Fact of the matter is that 2pac is DEEPER THAN HIS MUSIC & AS TIME PASSES BY MORE PROFOUND!!! The very fact that we are having this conversation 23years after his death proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt. Fearless, flawed, brilliant, and raw with genius! pic.twitter.com/xGacMirpPT
