The 61st Grammys nominations were announced Thursday, and among the Best Rap Album nominees were Cardi B, Nipsey Hussle, Travis Scott, Pusha-T, and Mac Miller. That last nomination instantly became a front-runner for many on Twitter, with Mac's fans celebrating his first-ever Grammy nod.

Swimming, Mac Miller's last studio album, was released in August to positive reviews, with many more revaluating its lyrical content following his accidental overdose the following month. Many have rejoiced after news of his nomination, but plenty of fans are upset that he's not around to see the news considering he previously said he wanted to get a Grammy nomination one day.

Some even called out the Grammys for ignoring all of his prior releases and only acknowledging him after he passed away, although his own mother, Karen Meyers, shared a screen cap of the Recording Academy's announcement of the nominees with a few emojis showing her approval. Regardless, it's good to see Miller acknowledged for his music, which undoubtedly touched so many of his fans.
