Donald Glover has just wrapped up what he's calling his final tour as Childish Gambino, with an accompanying farewell album for the musical project on the way in the near future. During the last show of the This Is America Tour at the Forum in Los Angeles on Monday, Glover revealed some personal news to his fans in a tender and heartfelt moment.

“I lost my father a couple weeks ago," Glover tells fans in a video from the show. "I wanted to play him some of the new songs, but he didn’t want to hear them because he was like, ‘I know they’ll be great.’ I’m not saying that to talk about music, I say that to talk about trust.”

Donald Glover Sr. had become known to Glover's fans online for his enthusiastic support of his son through his Twitter account, @DonaldsDad.

One fan posted footage of him paying tribute to his father before playing the song "Riot," and near the end of the clip it sounds as though he's fighting back tears. The show saw him admit that it's been a tough year in general for everyone, explaining, "I lost a lot of good people. I know it’s been a tough year for everybody, that’s what’s crazy. I wish I could change everything for everybody."

During the performance, Glover also shared a preview of an unreleased Childish Gambino song, which will assumedly turn up on that currently untitled album he's said will be his last.
