Having played jazz and classical saxophone for over 12 years, Boston-based producer, songwriter and rapper Mozado's decade-and-a-bit of music training has clearly given him a rock solid foundation on which to build his music career. New cut "Hellacopters", which drops tomorrow (Nov. 16), is a shining example of that with notes of funk, pop, jazz, soul and more to be heard in the deep bass line grooves, sparkling bursts of colour and jazzy synths. Though his output now mostly sits within the overlapping worlds of hip-hop and R&B, his knowledge of and passion for such a wide range of music is plain to hear.

"'Hellacopters' is my first step into performing on my own productions," Mozado explained. "It is the energy of being a young independent artist with no limits and being from a city that, I believe, is in the perfect position to create its own musical identity."

As we wait for his debut to drop around the turn of the year, take a listen to "Hellacopters" below.
