“Place Of Dreams” is a perfect example of why Birdz is being hailed as one of the most exciting rappers in the Australian scene right now. In this new single, Birdz explores the concept of limitations and glass ceilings in life, stating that “Place Of Dreams is about believing in yourself, having the strength to break through the bullshit and continue paving your own path.”
The song definitely creates a hopeful and ambitious vibe, with Ecca Vandal’s soaring hook, synth-heavy, anthem-ready production (courtesy of Trials) and Birdz’ uplifting bars coming together to jump any hurdle of doubt. It has a pop appeal, but its nods to classic boom-bap gives the single a slightly vintage feel.
This new single is the first taste of Birdz' bars since his 2017 album Train Of Thought, and is slated to be on his forthcoming EP slated to release on Briggs’ Bad Apples record label. With “Place Of Dreams” being an indication, it’s going to be fire.
