Glitteris finally getting the respect it deserves. The soundtrack of the 2001 box office flop unexpectedly hit No. 1 on iTunes’ Top 10 albums chart earlier this month. Thanks to #JusticeForGlitter, a heroic movement by fans, Mariah Carey is considering performing a medley of hits from the movie during her next tour.

During an interview on Watch What Happens Live, Carey was asked if she’d consider singing any Glitter songs after fans dramatically boosted the soundtrack. "Since the Lambily got Glitter to No.1 they've lifted this huge burden of feeling like, 'I can't do stuff from Glitter 'cause nobody knows it, or whatever,'” the singer replied. “We're going to put together perhaps a medley."

Considering the film was a critical and financial failure, everyone including Mariah Carey was surprised when it hit No. 1 a whole 17 years after its release. The film “almost ruined my life,” she said last week on The Tonight Show. “It was a tough time when it came out. It was a whole thing; it was a drama.”

The unexpected boost preceded the release of Carey’s 15th studio album Caution. It follows Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse.

If the #JusticeForGlitter campaign keeps up, fans attending her Caution Tour will singing along to a Glitter medley in no time. “I had nothing to do with it,” Carey said. “The Lambily got behind it, it’s a movement, it’s bigger than me.”
