When Meek Mill's new album CHAMPIONSHIPS dropped last night, people immediately gravitated to JAY-Z's verse on "What's Free," where Hov can be heard spitting a number of lines that kick off with a reference to Kanye and Donald Trump:
No red hat, don’t Michael and Prince me and Ye/They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA/I ain’t one of these house n***as you bought/My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours/My spo—c’mon, man—my route better of course
JAY has denied assumptions he was dissing Kanye on Twitter. "The line clearly meant don’t pit me against my brothers no matter what our differences are (red hat) now go pick up Meek album," he tweeted.
Earlier this year, Hov opened up about his relationship with Yeezy in April on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman. “That’s my brother. We’re beyond friends. Like literally, my little brother is Kanye,” he said. “And like your little brother, things happen sometimes. It’s still your sibling forever. We don’t come from the same mom and dad, but I’ve watched Kanye from without an album.”
The last couple lines about his gargantuan house are likely shots at Trump. JAY stops short of comparing his spouse, the one and only ethereal being Beyoncé, to Melania Trump, while listing all the ways his life is superior to No. 45.
