This week, a brand new platform has been launched with a focus on giving women a greater chance to step into the limelight. Foundation.fm launched on Monday and aims to "showcase the hottest emerging talent in the underground music scene led by a diverse group of women, LGBTQI+ persons and talented creatives — with women at the forefront."

The station was founded by the very accomplished trio of Becky Richardson (co-founder of Ghost Promo and Artist Manager at UROK Management), Ami Bennett (Executive Producer at Radio 1, 1Xtra and Asian Network), and Frankie Wells (Team Assistant at Capital Xtra and 1Xtra). So far, the station broadcasts between 10am and 10pm, including the Brunch and Happy Hour shows, a playlist hour, and a spotlight hour.

"It's exciting to be able to bring through the new wave of DJs and presenters, and give them a space to try things out creatively," says Ami Bennett. "There really is so much amazing female talent out there, it's a real privilege." Becky went on to say that she felt like there was "a need a platform that brought together all of London's creatives, that are all connected via music."

Tune in right here.
