Though Drake remained pretty busy throughout 2018, the Toronto-born rapper has no plans to slow down.

During his Wednesday night concert in Edmonton, Canada, Drake announced he will start recording his next project as soon as the Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour wraps up.

"Six shows left [...] I guess most people would go on a vacation, or I don't know what they do... But I'mma tell you what I'm gonna do," he told the crowd. "Because I keep having nights like this that remind me why I love my job so much, I promise you that as soon as this tour is over—and maybe I'll take, like, a little break—I'mma get right to work on a new album, so we can be right here [...] and have a new party."

The forthcoming release will be the follow-up to this year's Scorpion, in which Drake claimed he had fulfilled his contractual obligations to Cash Money Records: "Soon as the album drop, I’m out of the deal,” he raps on "Is There More."

A "well-placed source" told Varietythat when the 6 God inks his next deal "he’ll have another release ready to drop to accompany the news"; however, a source from Universal shot down the claim, insisting Drake wasn't leaving the imprint "anytime soon."

We'll be sure to keep you posted as more information about Drake's sixth studio album becomes available.
