It's been six years since we last had an album from former Commission rapper and hip-hop vet Icie. It's been a tumultuous journey for him with ups and downs that have already been extensively written about, but that's behind him now and he's got a new album and a renewed creative favour that's hard to ignore.
Moment Of Clarity is a well-executed return for Icie, showing a deep understanding of how to structure a project. The balance between lighter tracks like "Lost My Way" with more pensive cuts like "Church Ting", whilst sprinkling in swaggier tracks like "Nine To Five" and rowdy team-ups like "Practice Hours", makes for an album that should please pretty much every type of UK rap fan—and probably convert those last few naysayers.
