As we all know, each year ADE takes over Amsterdam for a city-wide festival that brings together the biggest names from across the globe as well as a whole range of other events, including workshops, conferences, seminars and other events besides.

Pretty much every subgenre and every scene in electronic music is represented at the festival, making the line-up almost endless. We've taken the time to trawl through the list and pick out the five essential, not-to-miss sets; we've tried to give as broad a list of names as possible—house, UK garage, techno, electro and some more experimental sounds—but with literally thousands of names on the bill, there's so much more to see.

Here is Complex's list of 5 Acts Not To Miss At ADE 2018.

Miss Kittin

Miss Kittin

A veteran within France's revered dance scene, Miss Kittin's DJ sets usually draw on her love for—and extensive knowledge of—electro, but you can expect to hear plenty of other kinds of 4x4 thump.

SOPHIE

SOPHIE

Still riding very high from the release of debut album Oil Of Everyone's Pearl's Un-Insides—and the overwhelmingly positive reception it's received—SOPHIE's set will no doubt be as out there as ever, and hopefully mostly her own productions.

Chaos In The CBD

Chaos In The CBD

Another tight-knit duo (this time because they're brothers) with a tendency towards the irreverent, New Zealanders Chaos In The CBD fly in the face of po-faced electronic music with energetic sets that drag every last ounce of energy out of the crowd. An essential spot in the schedule, especially if you're fading.

Seth Troxler

Seth Troxler

Last on our list is the debonair Detroit DJ Seth Troxler, another guaranteed good time. His selections run pretty much the full gamut of dance music, so you never quite know what you're going to get, but it will definitely be fun.

DJ Stingray

The Detroit electro legend, DJ Stingray will be playing two sets—Wednesday, Oct. 17 and Friday, Oct. 19—so expect to enjoy the fruits of his 30-or-so years of experience as he takes you on a deep voyage into the depths of his extensive record collection.
