Mac Miller Says He and Post Malone Have Discussed a Joint Album

In a recent interview with 'Rolling Stone,' Miller spoke about a recent jam session he and Posty, saying they "have been talking about doing an album."

What would a Mac Miller and Post Malone collaborative album sound like? Well, according to Miller, we may eventually get the answer.

In a newly published interview with Rolling Stone, the Pittsburgh rapper spoke about his recent jam session with Posty and Thudercat. Miller described the moment as “beautiful,” and teased a potential joint project with the Beerbongs & Bentleys star.

“Me and Post have been talking about doing an album, so we got together,” Miller said. “And then Frank Dukes has worked on a bunch of my records, but we had never met, so he came through, too. And then Thundercat appeared and we all started jamming […] It was beautiful. We were just having a great time.”

News of the potential collaborative album arrives just a day after Miller released his 13-track project Swimming. Though the effort addresses the 26-year-old’s struggles with depression and anxiety, he now claims to be in a much happier space. Which is great to hear, considering his recent highly publicized scandals.

Back in May, Miller was arrested for a D.U.I. and hit and run, after he allegedly crashed his G-Wagon in the San Fernando Valley. Miller acknowledges that the incident fueled addiction rumors—but he has no one to blame but himself.

“I loaded the gun for them. I got into that shit. That’s my mistake,” he said, after admitting to consuming drugs in the past. “What does that specific event mean for my whole character? That’s a different conversation. But people are going to draw their own conclusions. And I have a past history with that shit, so they’re going to naturally assume that that means I’m back going through it. I can’t change it. I’m not going to lose sleep over it, though. I’d rather just continue living my life and see where that goes.”

His arrest also took place shortly after he and Ariana Grande called it quits after two years of dating. Though Grande has not provided details about their relationship, she did describe it as “toxic,” and suggested Mac had struggled with sobriety for years.

Miller revealed he hasn’t spoken to the singer since their split; however, he insists he wishes her nothing but the best. “I’ve cared about her for a long time as a person,” he said about Grande, who is now engaged to SNL cast member Pete Davidson. “I am genuinely happy that that’s how she moved. That’s good for her. Go, go, keep going! As she should. I’m just being real. That’s good. Now I have space for me. And that’s great too.”
