Ariana Grande Defends Pete Davidson Over Article Claiming Comedian Has 'Butthole Eyes'

Ariana Grande came to Pete Davidson's defense when a 'Barstool Sports' article asked whether he has 'butthole eyes' because his eyes appear sunken at times. Grande responded by mentioning Davidson's autoimmune disease.

Ariana Grande will not tolerate any Pete Davidson slander. So when a Barstool Sports article came up posing the question of whether or not the Saturday Night Live comedian has "butthole eyes"—a.k.a. raccoon eyes where the pigmentation around the eyes is darker than the rest of the skin—she was quick to retort.

"Y’all do kno this man has an auto immune disease …… right? ….. like you do understand what you’re doing when u do this right? jus wanna make sure," she tweeted in response.

In 2016, Davidson revealed he had Crohn's disease and explained how marijuana helped him overcome the symptoms.

"I got Crohn’s disease when I was 17 or 18, and I found that the medicines that the doctors were prescribing me and seeing all these doctors and trying new things...weed would be the only thing that would help me eat," Davidson told High Times. "My stomach would be in pain all day and I wouldn't be able to eat, but then I’d smoke and I can eat and do my shows," he continued. "I wouldn’t be able to do SNL if I didn’t smoke weed. I wouldn’t be able to do anything really. Me performing not high has gone awful. It’s awful for me because I don’t feel well." While the inflammatory bowel disease definitely affects a person's day-to-day life, it doesn't actually affect the area around the eyes.

According to gastroenterologist Dr. Albert Knapp,  the 24-year-old's sometimes sunken eye appearance doesn't have a "direct correlation" to his Crohn's disease.

“The reason they’re sunken is because people with Crohn’s disease can sometimes become dehydrated,” he explained to Page Six. "But when you rehydrate they return to normal. Crohn’s disease does not directly cause eyes that look sunken in." Well, there you have it.
