Now, more details about his arrest have surfaced. Cops claim the vehicle was "weaving through traffic" and was pulled over for "failure to maintain lane" when crossing over a solid yellow line, TMZreports. Police allegedly found three weapons, less than an ounce of marijuana, and $107,000 in the vehicle.

Though Offset was charged with illegal possession of firearms, the rapper's attorney claims that the the guns belonged to Offset's assistant, a licensed gun holder, who was in the car at the time of the incident.

Following his arrest, the 26-year-old Offset was reportedly hit with four charges: improper lane change, possession of marijuana, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

Just one day after Offset was arrested outside of Atlanta, his attorney Drew Findling expressed his skepticism regarding the ordeal, saying that Offset was being targeted. “It's a common theme. We're talking about a young, African-American man driving a shiny, beautiful luxury car and clad in designer clothes and watches and jewelry,” Findling explained. “Unfortunately people in his genre become a target for law enforcement who think that lifestyle is connected to some illegal activity ... and that is a sad statement.”

Cardi B and their newborn daughter were not in the car with Offset at the time of his arrest.
