San Antonio, Texas-bred rapper Blake is ready for his moment. After racking up millions of plays on material released over the last few years, Blake is bringing in the next stage of his career in style. Today, he shares his new video for "Headfirst" and announces signing to Atlantic Records.
"As hip-hop has become the No. 1 genre in music, I am excited to be a part of the top hip-hop label in the game," he said. Edgar Machuca, who signed him to Atlantic, is just as excited about Blake's future with the label. "Signing Blake was special. He was the first artist I signed to Atlantic, and it feels good to play a role in the development of such a young and talented artist."
The A Zae Production-directed video for "Headfirst" sees Blake celebrating his success so far. "When I first heard the instrumental to the song 'Headfirst,' the lyrics came easy. It was a vibe and connection off top," he explained.
Speaking on what's next for him, Blake teased, “Right now I’m working on the next project which I’m planning to drop this year. Stay tuned, whole lotta drops coming soon! For the rest of the year I plan on putting on dope shows with this tour I’m starting with Juice WRLD. Then just dropping a lot of music for my fans and continuing to give them everything I got.”
