21 Savage on His Decision to Stop Buying Jewelry: 'I’ve Been Getting Way Richer'

21 Savage is going out of his way to avoid buying jewelry so he can invest in more important things, and it sounds like it's working out for the Atlanta rapper.

21 Savage's anti-jewelry stance is apparently paying off.

Back in February, the rapper’s manager took to Twitter to announce that 21 would no longer spend his hard-earned money on jewelry, and would instead put his funds toward business investments, cryptocurrency, and real estate.

It was bad news for the jewelry business, but great news for 21’s bank account.

During a recent feature for Vogue magazine, the Atlanta-born rapper addressed his decision to disavow flashy accessories, stating that jewelry was too played out and unnecessary.

“I stopped wearing jewelry for a couple of reasons,” he explained while headed to the Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2019 menswear show in NYC. “One is because everybody wears jewelry. I outgrew it; I’m getting a little wiser and growing so … Another reason is because the richest people that I’ve ever met in my life, they’ve never had on jewelry. Every time I meet someone who’s very, very rich, like wealthy, I’ve never seen them with jewelry on.

“And ever since I’ve been saving money and not spending it on jewelry, I’ve been getting way richer.”

Maybe other rappers should take note.
