Trippie Redd Says He's in 'Album Mode' and Will No Longer Engage in Negativity

The artist told his fans he was sorry for his behavior.

It appears Trippie Redd has turned over a new leaf.

Days after he threatened to “beat the fuck out of” 6ix9ine, the Ohio-born rapper issued a lengthy statement via Instagram, claiming he has decided to distance himself from all the drama.

“Sorry for being so involved in so much negativity. I’m putting all that aside from here. I’m done with involving my art and intelligence with others I shouldn’t even be giving people the light of day,” he wrote in part. “[…] My true feelings about everything is that I no longer care about what anyone has to say no longer responding to anyone anymore […] I just know I’m here to set an example for you guys and other artist and ima just be the bigger man and step up and say fuck this negative bull shit I’m letting my music speak for its self.”

As you can see above, Trippie never mentions any of his foes by name. Though he has had publicized feuds with artists like XXXTentacion and Bow Wow, his biggest beef has been with his label mate 6ix9ine. At one point, Trippie claimed he deserved a finders fee for his role in 6ix9ine’s record deal with Elliot Grainge Entertainment. Trippie also said 6ix9ine should “pay homage” to him “because he wouldn't be shit without me.” 6ix9ine fired back, accusing Trippie of sleeping with Bhad Bhabie when she was 13. Trippie and Bhabie have denied these claims.

The “Dark Knight Dummo” artist said he is now dedicating his energy to his upcoming debut album. Earlier this week, Trippie revealed the project would span around 25 tracks between two discs.

“There is a more artsy, lyrical part of the album. That's where like, ‘Taking a Walk,’ ‘Oomps Revenge,’ ‘Can You Rap Like Me 2,’ ‘How You Feel,’ all the rock songs, the R&B songs, the very artsy rap songs, and shit are going to be on that side,” he said in an Instagram Live broadcast. “"And on the other side of the album, it's going to be more bangers and shit. For example, like my song with Quavo [...] ‘I Kill People'’ is probably going to be on the other side. I'm still not sure yet. I'm still trying to line everything up. I'll let you know as I go.”

Trippie also shared a snippet of an unreleased track on social media Wednesday, writing: “can u guess what couple made a song and is playing it in the background.” It’s unclear if this track will be included on Trippie’s upcoming project.

Trippie's two-sided album is expected to drop in July.
